She is a Sun. Not a Public Utility. by Nika Patrice | Listen

my mind and heart are not public utilities.
a woman’s mind and heart are not public utilities
my mind heart and body are not public utilities
they are life force not for powering minds hearts or cities
my mind heart and body are not public utilities
I am a woman stretching awake at the edge of the morning
I am a woman feeling the light of the end of the night and the start of the day
I am a woman stretching out onto the balcony the kiss of the air saying hello and the warmth of the sun brushing how did you sleep against the warmth of my skin
I am a woman letting the rays of the sun in and meeting it with the light of the joy from the sun that’s within.
I am a woman
I am not a public utility
I am a woman
my light is my own and, I, the sun radiating out from this life force, meet the waking up hello good morning of the sun on my skin
I am a woman
I meet the light of the sun as – as the light that’s within
I am a woman
I am meant to be liberated as in the free that gives me full place space and dominion
not the free of the public utility you think i’m meant to or you think i should be
I am a woman
and I am not the free in the public utility sense of what you think i should be
i am a woman where i am stretching out into the light of the morning
i am a woman stretching myself out into the light of the morning because I have
finally finally
set myself
free.

She is a Sun
aka (A woman)
(Not a public utility.)
